PEDAL, PACE, CAST & COMPETE

Cyclists Sprint for Victory

Over 900 participants joined us for this three‑mile time trial on the Kansas Speedway track. The event is scored by age group, with teams able to enter two male and two female competitors per ten‑year division. This two‑night competition remains a favorite among both participants and spectators thanks to its truly unique on‑track experience.

Running Hard, Casting Far, & Ringing the Bar

Teams stayed busy this past week with fishing, horseshoes, tennis, and a 5K. From Ward Parkway to Smithville Lake, to McCoy Park, and back to the Kansas City Racquet Club, more than 2,000 competitors showed up to unite, compete, and celebrate.

YOUR TEAM. YOUR IMPACT. YOUR CITY

Competition Meets Community

Every year before the Kansas City Corporate Challenge season officially begins, our Board of Directors and Ambassadors like to warm up with a little friendly competition. This year, we channeled that energy into something even more meaningful by volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City.

Earlier this spring, our team spent a Saturday at the Martin City ReStore, rolling up our sleeves to straighten carpets, organize inventory, and prep the floor for weekend shoppers. And in true KCCC fashion, we still found a moment to set up a table tennis table—because even on volunteer day, a little competition keeps things fun.

Giving back was the perfect way to gear up for a busy 2026 season—and a reminder that the community we play in is also one we’re proud to support.

COMPANY SPOTLIGHT

AgriSompo

AgriSompo’s team is jumping into KCCC with enthusiasm, inspired by past positive experiences and their newly formed Community Support Committee. They’re excited to try new events, grow participation, and cheer each other on.

For the team, KCCC is all about fun, connection, and stepping outside their usual routines to enjoy a mix of wellness and friendly competition. With “Rain Is a Good Thing” as their walk‑up song, they’re ready for anything the season brings -- even a little rain.

"KCCC gives us the chance to compete in activities we normally wouldn’t, connect with coworkers from all parts of the organization, and get more engaged in the corporate community. It’s a meaningful blend of wellness, connection, and friendly competition."

Celebrate Older Americans Month with JCPRD

May is National Older Americans Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the contributions, vitality, and lifelong curiosity of older adults in our community.

To mark the occasion, the Johnson County Park and Recreation District’s 50 Plus Department is offering a variety of free events throughout the month. These programs are made possible thanks to the generous support of The Parks & Recreation Foundation of Johnson County, whose sponsorship helps make these opportunities accessible to the community.
