FCEP Board of Directors Elections:

2022-2025 Term

The voting period is open now through August 1st at 12:00 pm EST.

On behalf of the FCEP Board Nominating Committee, please find below the slate of candidates for the 2022-2025 term. Newly elected directors will take office at the Annual Board Meeting immediately following the election of officers (Article VI, Section 4), and serve through August 2025.

There are eight (8) open spots and four (4) incumbents running for re-election. The slate of candidates includes eleven (11) total candidates. Each candidate is a FCEP member in good standing, highly motivated to serve, and demonstrates active involvement in chapter activities. View Candidates

Surfside Collapse: Anatomy of the Champlain Towers Disaster

EMS medical director for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and Urban Search & Rescue Florida Task Force 1, Dr. Ben Abo spent a month at the scene of the Champlain Towers in Surfside, Florida, after its collapse on June 24, 2021. Join Dr. Abo as he shares his experiences from the ground - detailing what led to the collapse; the search, rescue, and recovery efforts; and the physical and emotional impact to first responders.

Attendees will:

Enhance and improve preparedness of Florida emergency physicians
Overview of the building structure, known issues and points of failure, and missed methods of prevention
Understand on scene Search, Rescue, and Recovery efforts post-collapse
Learn on scene best practices for implementation
Understand the emotional and physical impact for providers
