Hello!
St. Joseph Center had an incredible response at our 47th Anniversary Gala, and we are so grateful for the generosity of our community! The event, held at The Rolling Greens in Downtown LA on Saturday, June 1, 2024, was attended by over 200 guests in a beautiful landscape oasis and showroom filled with joy and celebration of community. We couldn’t have done it without your support! Stay tuned for the final amount raised, but rest assured, it's been a successful event!
St. Joseph Center would like to thank Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, Congressman Ted Lieu, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, and a virtual appearance from Jimmy Kimmel in a special video message for St. Joseph Center and the gala honorees. We honored Peter Laugharn of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation and Dr. Va Lecia Adams Kellum, LAHSA President & CEO. We awarded Chef Sarah Harvey the Dr. Va Lecia Adams Kellum Hope Through Empowerment Award and Tonia Rhodes The Rhonda Meister Staff Excellence Award.
Our host, Christy Anne-Lopez, guest artist Divina Jasso, and comedian Craig Shoemaker were exceptional! We also want to send a shout-out of appreciation for our Event Committee and Development team, led by Gala Chair/Board Member Patti Reiss, Director of Development Amanda Meek, Event Coordinator Shawn Hebbeler, and Missy Slay/Slay Events productions. Finally, thank you to all the volunteers and participants who helped make this historic celebration successful!
We have come a long way since 1976, when our founding Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet began feeding and clothing neighbors in need on the streets of Venice, California.
Today, St. Joseph Center serves over 13,000 Angelenos annually with housing services, street outreach, food assistance, mental health services, and job skills training.
We understand that much work is still needed to address the affordable and safe housing security of over 69,000 Angelenos. We will continue tackling homelessness and poverty – but we can’t do it without you. You are our community partner, and we value your encouragement in this critical work.
If you couldn’t attend our 47th Gala, you can still help our mission and goal of raising $1 Million by the end of June! Click the donate button below or text SJC47 to 26989 from your mobile device to give today and learn more.
Thank you!
