Orlando, Fla. - September 22, 2026 - The Health Law Firm announced that one of its partners, Amanda I. Forbes, successfully challenged an adverse National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) report, resulting in its removal and being voided in its entirety.
The NPDB report stated that the basis for the reported action was: "other unprofessional conduct," "inappropriate sexual comments made towards staff," and "other comments." Despite the absence of any evidence of inappropriate conduct toward a patient or any evidence of substandard care, the Nurse Practitioner (APRN) was terminated by his employer.
As a general rule, termination of employment is not valid grounds for an adverse NPDB report.
On behalf of her client, Ms. Forbes requested that the NPDB report be voided and removed. Forbes stated that the report was based solely on an employment action and not on any adverse clinical privileges or licensure action.
Therefore, because the allegations against her client did not satisfy the reporting requirements of the NPDB regulations, and because the report contained material factual inaccuracies, the report was removed from the National Practitioner Data Bank and voided in its entirety.
