After fetal imaging confirmed d-transposition of the great arteries (d-TGA), Evie’s family was referred to Lurie Children’s for coordinated fetal cardiology care. From same-day counseling and ongoing prenatal planning to delivery coordination and immediate postnatal intervention, a dedicated team guided care at every step.  

Today, Evie is a thriving toddler—showing the impact of early diagnosis, seamless coordination, and specialized fetal and congenital heart care.

International patient and destination services

Each year, more than 500 patients travel from out of state and around the world to Lurie Children’s. Our International Patient and Destination Services team supports families and referring physicians by coordinating travel logistics, housing, appointments, and financial guidance. We welcome patients from any location and provide dedicated support from initial inquiry through every step of their visit.
