Hello Neighbors and Friends -

Our Connect at the Courts Pickleball Tournament and Community Day is this month - August 30th. There is something for everyone there, whether you play pickleball or not! Please read on to learn more. We hope to see you there!

You're probably reading this newsletter because you live, work or play in Westborough. Have you been to the Westborough Farmers' Market on Thursdays? If not, you are missing out. It is a weekly opportunity to connect with our community and shop local! Westborough Connects is there every week, with our table, activities, Borough the Bee scavenager hunt, local resources and the Belonging Bus. Please come by and say hello to us. Make it a destination! (We could also use volunteers to help set up and break down each week. It takes a village, as they say).

Tomorrow, August 7th is Westborough Fire Chief Pat Purcell's last day before retirement. I want to send a special shout out to the chief for all the ways he has supported Westborough Connects over the years. On behalf of the organization, thank you and enjoy your well-deserved retirement!

Yours in Community,

Kelley Petralia

NEW! Westborough Community Calendar

Have your ever found yourself looking online for dates of major Westborough events?

Have you tried setting a date for a big community event and been concerned about possible conflicts with other major things happening at the same time?

We’re excited to introduce the first version of a Westborough Community Calendar—a shared space focused on highlighting major community events and cherished local traditions. This is just the beginning and doesn’t include everything yet, but we’ll continue building it over time. It's a Google Calendar, so if you use Google Calendar, you can add it to your view. Alternatively, you can bookmark the link below to check it.

We encourage local organizations to submit events for consideration (many already have!), so we can keep the calendar growing and reflective of our whole community.

Special thanks to our Westborough High School student intern, Tristan B., for all his work in pulling this together.

NOTE: We have a busy community with lots of events happening all the time. The intent of this calendar is to make the public aware of major annual events and traditions. Some examples of what this calendar will include are major annual community fundraiser events (e.g., Turkey Trot, Lion's Club Duck Derby, etc.), annual town events (elections, Town Meeting, WHS graduation, Memorial Day Parade, etc.), annual community traditions (Kindness Week, Westborough Unplugs, Block Party, Rotary Tree Lighting etc.), cultural celebrations (Dr. MLK Community Celebration, International Women's Day Celebration in Westborough, Diwali), etc.

We'll continue to share event flyers every month through our newsletters and at our new space downtown.
