Good morning, Kristin,
Like many of you, my attention and prayer this week has been drawn to the communities devastated by the fires in Los Angeles. I have been listening for how we, as a Catholic school community, may assist the recovery efforts throughout the archdiocese, supporting those Catholic schools and families whose lives have been upended, along with supporting the humanitarian work being undertaken throughout the archdiocese.
Our first response is to commit to joining our prayers in gratitude for the fire crews and first responders, for their bravery and sacrifice, as they have risked everything to protect lives and homes. We also offer prayers for God's Providence to bring healing and peace to the lives of all those impacted, grieving, and facing the daunting task of rebuilding their lives.
While the full extent of the losses will only be realized in the days ahead, recovery efforts are already underway. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles and Catholic relief agencies are mobilizing resources and opportunities for people to support victims of the fires.
In addition to prayer, we can join these efforts by offering tangible support to those who have been impacted. Whether through donations or other acts of solidarity, every contribution makes a difference.
With gratitude,
NICHOLAS FORD | Superintendent
Office for Catholic Schools | Archdiocese of Seattle
