Since 2018, Give for Frisco has helped to build awareness and support for local nonprofits, with a goal to make this the largest annual community-wide giving event in Frisco. Each year on February 14, Valentine’s Day, with your support, this idea is transformed into a city-backed movement to ignite a broader culture of giving.

Supporting Frisco Education Foundation (FEF) when you Give for Frisco makes a big impact on students and educators in Frisco ISD.

Did you know that fifty (50%) percent of FEF's scholarships are needs based?

The Grants for Great Ideas! help fund programs that enable teachers to offer alterative and engaging strategies to support all students including high-achievers, special needs and different learning styles.

Ronnie Burnside graduated from Lone Star high school as part of the first class of graduating seniors in 2014. He received the Scott Sullivan scholarship from Frisco Education Foundation.

"I was the first child to go to college in our household and the Frisco Education Foundation scholarship was a huge help. It helped us take a breath. .. my family and I were able to put our focus on other aspects of my education rather than having to figure out the payment. The scholarship helped me a lot!" After graduating from Texas Tech, Ronnie began his career at the Frisco Police Department.

"I came into law enforcement to be able to give back and help others when they need it the most." Those are also the reasons why Ronnie established the Perseverance Scholarship through the Frisco Education Foundation to help graduating seniors through one of the most difficult times in our history.

He established the Perseverance scholarship through his personal funds and reached out to friends, family and his social media network to raise additional funds so that he could pay it forward to a Frisco ISD student and help lessen his/her financial burden for college.
