The Road to Independence event is sponsored by Mike McNamara of ProperRate, Milk Money Brewing and BEDS Plus in honor of Women's History Month, and has the goal of raising awareness and funds to assist homeless women fleeing domestic violence.

For every pint of Mulligan's Red sold, Milk Money will donate $1 to BEDS Plus, and ProperRate will match up to $1,000 throughout the month of March.

BEDS Plus sees too many women who find themselves homeless when they decide to leave their abuser. We partner with domestic violence agencies to provide the next step on the road to independence.Your purchase will directly assist them to find stability thru supportive services and housing.
Mike McNamara is passionate about this cause because someone in his family was personally affected by it.

He recently shared, “I was angry and frustrated with my sister who stayed with her abusive husband for 19 years before she finally left him. Truth is... she probably wouldn't have left if she didn't have two little girls that she needed to protect. Eventually a safe-house shelter saved her life on 3 different ocasions and gave her another chance at independence. A shelter is critical for so many women and children fleeing for safety."
