Federal policy changes are putting women and children at the greatest risk. HUD is moving away from the proven “Housing First” model and toward short-term programs with strict requirements, threatening up to 170,000 people in permanent supportive housing across the country.

The human toll is real:

  • 259,000 people experiencing homelessness are in families with children. Nearly 150,000 children were homeless — a 33% increase in one year.
  • Women and girls make up 58% of people in homeless families; 90% of these families are headed by women, most single parents.
  • Frontline nonprofit staff are also disproportionately women: nearly 75% of social service and housing nonprofit workers are female, bearing the profound responsibility of caring for families in need.

FACETS is preparing to respond, but we cannot do it alone.

Your gift today provides:

  • $200 – Groceries for a family in permanent housing
  • $500 – Transportation to shelters, jobs, and housing
  • $1,000 – A night of hot meals for families in crisis

Give now to protect housing stability for women, children, and the nonprofit staff who support them.

Thank you for standing with families and the women who serve them on the frontlines.

Warmly,

FACETS Development Team
