Greetings VM III Resident!
It is time to verify our VM III status as an “Age 55 or Older” community!
As you all know, VM III is an “Age 55 or older” community, which allows us to restrict the age of occupancy.
What we just learned is that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), via federal legislation known as Housing for Older Persons Act of 1995 (HOPA), requires that we reaffirm and re-verify our status every two years by preparing a survey called the HOPA Occupancy Age Survey.
So all the Board needs from each owner is a statement certifying that at least one occupant of your residence is 55 or older.
You do not need to tell us the occupant’s name, their age, or their birthdate.
You do not need to tell us how many occupants are in your residence.
The “55 or older” person can be you or someone else living in the house.
All the Board needs is for you to fill out and submit the simple web form on our website that certifies that you, as the owner, confirm that someone aged 55 or older occupies the residence at your address.
