Do you remember the joy of playing in the snow when you were a kid? Making snowmen, forts, and snowballs are a wonderful way to get outside and away from all of the stress of the pandemic this year that you know our children are feeling.
Pandemic or not, kids deserve the joy and exercise of playing outside in our cold winter months. So many things have changed because of COVID-19 but not the basic things that kids need. While they may not be walking to school, they still need new, warm mittens and gloves.
Because of COVID-19, Mittens for Detroit's annual huge public collection cannot happen. We have had to shift our focus to raising money to purchase new pairs and to keep the doors open. This year's Giving Tuesday donations will fund pairs for the Hamtramck students that we have supported since 2013. We need your help!
