The 2025 Golf Tournament Was a Huge Success!

Superheroes Answered the Call!

What a beautiful day we enjoyed at Twin Lakes Golf Club on Friday, October 3rd! Our clerical foursome ensured the weather was the best it had been. The staff at Twin Lakes ensured the course was in excellent condition. The culinary partners at Ford's Fish Shack made sure we were well fed, and our drink sponsors kept us caffeinated and hydrated. Our Porto President, Leo Alonso, was running his famous Vegas hole on #8. Our generous sponsors, players, donors, and volunteers showed up en masse for our 17th annual "Be a Hero" golf tournament.

On behalf of the Board and members of Porto Charities, we are grateful and humbled by your outpouring of love and support for our important mission. This year, our tournament raised $84,500, which will generate scholarships to educators pursuing graduate degrees in Special Education in the Diocese of Arlington. Our educators want to continue their training and education to be better equipped to serve our students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and we are grateful to offset some of their tuition fees through these scholarships.

We can only hope you enjoyed this special day as much as we enjoyed planning it for you. From all of us, thank you for being the superheroes that make this possible.
