The Universal Prayer, also known as the Prayer of the Faithful, is an important part of the Mass in which the parish community responds to God's Word by offering prayers for the needs of the Church and the world.
Following the Profession of Faith (Creed), we pray for the Church, for civic and world leaders, for those who are sick, suffering, or in need, for our local community, and for the faithful departed. Through these intercessions, we unite our hearts in prayer and express our concern for all people, trusting in God's love and mercy.
The Universal Prayer reminds us of our baptismal call to pray for one another and to bring the needs of the world before the Lord.
