New St. Joseph Statue in Memory of Gertrude Conway

We are pleased to announce that a new statue of St. Joseph has been placed in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Summer Chapel in memory of our longtime parishioner, Gertrude Conway, who passed away in 2025. The statue was purchased using a portion of the memorial gifts donated in her honor.

The previous statue of St. Joseph has now been replaced. If anyone is interested in giving it a new home, please contact the parish office. However, because it is a sacred image, we ask that it be placed in a suitable location where it will be treated with the reverence it deserves.

Please Use Caution When Reading Your Emails

Once again, we have received notification of an email scam. The email is an invitation to a party given by a fellow parishioner or one of the Fathers.

DELETE the email and DO NOT RESPOND IN ANY WAY. It is not from us, and it is a scam.

We also received word that a few parishioners have been hacked, so please use caution!

Feast of the Assumption

Saturday, August 15, 2026 is the patronal feast of Assumption Parish. Because the feast falls on a Saturday, it is not a holy day of obligation this year. However, because it is an important feast for Assumption Parish, we will gather in the hall for wine, soft drinks, appetizers, and dessert after the 5:00pm Mass. Sign-up forms are on the tables in the summer chapel for folks to volunteer to bring something to eat or drink. All are welcome!

Announcement of Death

We have the sad duty to announce the sudden death last week of Jessica Lewis, who was a long-time parishioner of St. Boniface before moving to Orange County, NY some years ago with her family. Please keep her and her family in your prayers. May Jessica rest in peace, and may her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Registration for Family Faith Formation (F3) and Sacramental Prep is Open!

Looking for a different way to grow in faith? The Brooklyn Oratory Parishes invite you to our monthly Family Faith Formation program. Instead of traditional drop-off classes, families gather once a month for a shared breakfast, prayer, and breakout sessions where parents and kids learn the same topics at their own levels. We are here to empower and support you in building holy habits at home! Sacramental Prep Registration is also open for First Holy Communion and Confirmation.

Ready to join us? Click here to register. For questions, please contact Joe O'Brien, Director of Parish Faith Formation, at jobrien@oratorychurch.org

Mass Intentions

It has been a long tradition in the Church to offer Masses for people to pray, especially for the dead, seeking God’s grace, mercy, and spiritual benefits through Christ’s sacrifice. Usually a modest donation is given for this. In the coming weeks we have several Masses with no particular intentions. If you would like to have a Mass offered for someone (living or deceased), email the parish office at info@oratorychurch.org or click here.
