2025 NALG National Tournament Open for Entries

The 2025 NALG 89th annual national tournament is open for entries. Tournament play is set for October 3 - 5, 2025. The tournament will be held in Fort Worth, TX with the Marriott Champions Circle serving as both the golfing venue and host hotel.

We expect a significant increase in the number of players for this year's tournament due to the elevated promotion efforts and national presence of the NALG. We urge you to get your entry in early as the field will be limited to the first 100 entries due to the host course only having one course available for our use.

Recent Tournament Results

Battle In The Desert

On March 7 - 9, 2025, 28 lefties representing Team California and Team Arizona (14 players on each team) teed it up for three days of competition at the Saddlebrooke area golfing complex near Tucson, AZ. After a first day rainout, the final two days of play was met with glorious weather and fierce competition. The matches were "all square" with one round remaining. In the end Team California came out on top.

Many new lefty friendships were forged during the tournament and much fun was had by all the participants. Many thanks and a big shout out to the two team captains and tournament organizers, Jim Dalton (California) and Mark Miller (Arizona). Click HERE for a link to the tournament recap and pictures.

Spotlight on "Friends of the NALG"

A "Friend of the NALG" since 2021, we encourage you to take a look at the Left Behind Golf Company (leftbehindgolf.com).

Left Behind's Mission

To raise the profile of Lefty golf across the board, we decided to create golf's first brand dedicated exclusively to Lefty golfers. Left Behind Golf is for golfers who feel 'left' behind in a Righty's world. We're here to represent for the road less traveled and to ensure a more inviting and accessible future for Left-Handed golfers.

One thing is for sure; we know we can't do it alone. Through partnerships with organizations like The National Association of Left-Handed Golfers, multiple pro-shops/retailers, and most importantly proud Lefties like yourself, we endeavor to take the message of #LeftiesUnite across the globe.

Editor's Comment: Left Behind has many fine products, but I can tell you as a customer you will be hard-pressed to find a more soft and supple golf glove than that sold by Left Behind. Check them out.

Other News

Although not (yet) an NALG member, Congratulations to PGA Tour lefty Brian Harman for winning the Valero Texas Open. Brian faltered somewhat near the end of the first nine holes on Day 4 but reigned it in and went on to win by 3 shots in commanding fashion. Congratulations again lefty.

Also pictured here is a newspaper clipping of lefty Bob Charles winning the 1963 Houston Open.

Masters Week Trivia:

1) How many lefthanded players have won the Masters?

2) How many Masters tournaments have been won by a lefthanded player?

Awards:

Congratulations to Dick Spong (NALG Marketing & Promotions Director) for being named the 2025 Valspar Championship Volunteer of the Year. A tournament volunteer and hole-captain for over 25years at this PGA tournament, Dick richly deserves this recognition.

As part of the award package, Dick had the opportunity to name a charity of his choice to receive a $2,500 donation under his name. We are happy to let you know Dick named the NALG as the charity of his choice. Thank you, Dick, for this wonderful donation.

Do you have a hole-in-one, other personal achievement or some other lefty news to share? Please send your information to Sid Miner so we can share with the rest of the NALG.

Oh, by the way, three lefties have won the Masters a total of six times.
