Thanks to your generous support, Christmas donations to the Order are providing tuition and teaching equipment for 92 school-age children who otherwise have no access to an education.

Donations have enabled the Fund to double the amount awarded to the Order’s work supporting persecuted Christian refugees from Pakistan in Thailand .
Young children, like 4-year-old Shazee, are unable to attend school in Bangkok. His parents are not allowed to work and cannot afford his schooling.

The Order is providing education and hope for many young children who have never known a life without fear and persecution.

Meet Faith:

Faith is 12 years old. She lives in Uganda and has sickle cell disease. Faith was suffering regular strokes which left her partially paralysed and relying on her mother to carry her everywhere. Her family couldn’t afford the essential medication.

Malteser International runs outreach clinics in Uganda and Faith is just one of the hundreds of people whose lives have been transformed by the Order. With the medication she now receives, Faith is having fewer strokes. She can walk without support and can enjoy life with her family.

Bringing Hope:
In Bulgaria, orphans and disabled children in state facilities rarely get the chance to leave their institutions.

H.E. Camillo Zuccoli, the late Ambassador of the Order of Malta to Bulgaria, cared for these children and organised summer holidays . He gave them respite and encouraged their artistic talents. Art created by the children was published and presented in an official ceremony. The Fund has supported the camps and doubled the number of children able to attend.
A tribute to Ambassador Zuccoli:
Ambassador Zuccoli died in February, 2019. The Order of Malta paid tribute to his exemplary diplomatic commitment and the numerous social and humanitarian activities that he organised.  The Fund remembers the hope and joy he brought to forgotten children in Bulgaria. 
From Belarus, with Love:
“Ljublju” means 'I love you' in Belarusian and the Ljublju Camps, run by the Italian Relief Corps, provide just that: love.

Every year, twenty Belarusian children from areas affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster come to Italy for a month. Here they escape the effects of radiation and take part in outdoor activities. The camps take the children away from contaminated homes and help them to form friendships.

With the support of the Fund, twenty more disadvantaged Italian children attended the camps and joined the hiking, sports and cultural excursions.
