January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month.
This is a good time to announce that WRIC has been chosen by the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) at the Department of Justice to implement the only nonprofit Human Trafficking (HT) Program in Bergen County to assist survivors of trafficking. Human Trafficking is happening throughout Bergen County; consider the attached articles; learn more about this problem and see how we are all affected by this crime, and know that WRIC stands ready to help.

If you’re interested in supporting this cause, it’s not too late to make a year-end tax deductible donation to WRIC (click here). Look for future notices regarding more information about human trafficking and how to refer to this specialized program.
Also, WRIC is confident that through new grant funding, we will be expanding our legal services in the New Year too!! It won’t be long before you hear more about this. Stay tuned.
In the meantime, WRIC still offers Work Readiness Services, Computer classes, ESL, Shared Housing Counseling, Women’s Clothes Closet, Trauma Counseling Interventions for Victims of Crime or folks seeking Wellness and more.
2023 is our 50th Anniversary of helping people help themselves become self-sufficient, and we look forward to this New Year to continue our good work.
