Dear friends of The CARE Center,

From summer camps, to generous volunteer endeavors, to back-to-school preparations… We’re looking back on so many joyful moments from Summer 2025 with warmth and gratitude. As we near the end of this wonderful summer and look toward a rapidly approaching new school year, we’re excited to share the many updates this season brings!

This past month marked the exciting launch of our

25th Anniversary Celebration! For 25 years, The CARE Center has been walking alongside families in Southeast Madison County, offering hope, support, and opportunities for lasting change. To honor this milestone, we’ve set a faith-filled goal: we're praying to receive 25 new monthly donors who will pledge to give $25/month by the end of 2025. Consistent support is what provides a strong foundation for the programs and relationships that define our mission.

We are also excited to announce that the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce has officially nominated us as a contender for Nonprofit of the Year! This recognition reflects your support, our community partnerships, and the incredible work happening every day through this mission. Thank you for believing in what we do and helping make moments like this possible.

Looking ahead at the school year, we want to remind families that a new Bags of Blessings application must be filled out each school year, even if you’ve received bags in the past. Click HERE to fill out your 2025-26 Bags of Blessings application!

We’re also excited about our next big community event: Don’t Fret, Just Prep! This is one of our favorite new initiatives- an incredible and informative college and career preparation event for both students and families to learn about education and job options, finances, applications, and so much more. Mark your calendars for September 20th, 2025 and stay tuned for more details.

Gregg Berens Memorial

“I Golf Because I CARE” Fundraising Tournament

Save the date for October 17th, 2025! This year’s Gregg Berens Memorial 'I Golf Because I CARE' fundraising tournament is returning to the beautiful Robert Trent Jones Golf Course. Plan to join us for an unforgettable day of fun and making a difference in our community. Your participation helps support our impactful work, and together, we can continue to bring hope and help to those in need.

Male Mentors Needed

We are seeking responsible male mentors for the school day and our after-school programs. These mentors are crucial in providing guidance and support to the youth in our community. Applicants must be available to meet with their assigned child at school at least once a week during the school day or our after-school program and pass a background check. If you have a passion for making a difference in the lives of young people, we encourage you to reach out and become a mentor.

Food Pantry Wish List

Our food pantry shelves are a little bare right now, so as you go grocery shopping, would you be willing to pick up some extra items for our Food Pantry? To make it more convenient for you, we have an Amazon Wish List where you can order items and have them shipped directly to our Business Office. All donations help ensure food stability for our neighbors during difficult times. Thank you for your support!

Meal Ministry Volunteers

“Do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” Is volunteering on your heart? We are currently seeking volunteers to help support our meal ministries!

If you're interested in getting involved, we want to hear from you!

Recovery Support Group

Thursdays / 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Ministry Building

Research shows that a positive, encouraging support system makes addiction recovery much more likely. Join our onsite group today! Registration is not required. Come as you are and bring a friend. Dinner will be provided at the top of the hour.

Counseling Services

Mon, Tues, Thurs | By appointment only. Adult Learning Center

We offer on-site appointments with a licensed therapist for adults only. Everyone's situation is unique, so flexible payment options tailored to your insurance or income are available.
