Welcome to Wellness & Wraparound Weekly!
Linked is the first edition of Wellness & Wraparound Weekly! This newsletter will keep
you informed about the resources and initiatives from the Social Work and Wraparound teams at Bellaire High School. Our mission is to ensure every student has the support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
As your social worker, I and our Wraparound Specialist, Mr. Barajas, are here to connect
students with mental health services, address basic needs, and strengthen family and
community relationships.
We'll share updates, partnerships, resources, and more to support our students and staff each week (or bi-weekly, depending on the updates). Feel free to reach out with any questions or suggestions.
Warm regards,
Stephanie Aguilar, LMSW

Early Dismissal from School
All students must check out with Ms. Espadas in the Attendance Office located in the Main Office before leaving school during the school day. Parents must also come in to check their students out, and they must present a valid ID that matches information in PowerSchool/HISD Connect. The main office will then request the student from class.
3:00 PM is the cut-off time to pick a student up early for the day. Parents arriving after 3:00 PM cannot have their student called down to the attendance office. If a student needs to be picked up early, they must be picked up before 3:00 PM.
When absent, students should turn in an excuse note (doctor’s, parent, etc…) to Ms. Espadas for filing. As a reminder, a minimum attendance requirement of 90% in each class is required to award course credit.

See Something, Say Something: Keeping Our School Safe Together
We want to remind our community about the See Something, Say Something app—an essential tool to help maintain a secure environment. This app allows students, staff, and parents to report any suspicious activity, concerns, or potential threats anonymously.
By speaking up and working together, we can prevent issues before they escalate, ensuring that Bellaire High School remains a safe place for learning and growth. Remember, if you see something that doesn’t feel right, don’t hesitate—report it here. Together, we can make a difference!
