Dear Bellaire High School Parents and Community,

This week our students and staff are on Thanksgiving vacation. There will be no school from Monday, November 25 through Friday, November 29. All students and staff will return to school on Monday, December 2. Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to reflect upon all that we are grateful for and to give thanks for the blessings in our lives. I am thankful to work with an amazing staff and for the opportunity to support incredible students. I am also thankful for the support for the community as a whole. I would like to wish everyone a very safe and restful Thanksgiving week with family, friends, and loved ones.

To contribute to a strong finish of the Fall Semester, please remind your children that students are expected to return to school on December 2 in compliance with the Bellaire High School dress code and with their ID badges on, out, and visible. The Student Handbook, with updated language around the cell phone policy on page 18, is linked for easy reference. Additionally, the Fall Semester final exams schedule is provided below. Finally, the next Coffee with The Principal (CWP) is scheduled for Thursday, December 12th from 9:00 am – 10:00 am in the library. CWP is a great opportunity to meet other parents and get school updates.

On behalf of Bellaire High School, Happy Thanksgiving!

Michael Niggli, Principal

Thank You PTO

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Ms. Julie Golberger, President of the PTO, and to all the members of the PTO for their generous support of the JROTC program. On November 11th, the PTO graciously donated beautiful new flags to be displayed at the front of our school. This thoughtful gesture ensured that our colors are proudly and vibrantly represented for years to come. On November 13th, the JROTC cadets had the privilege of raising these new flags for the first time during the morning ceremony. The flags looked stunning and added a sense of pride and unity to the event. Thank you once again for your continued dedication to keeping our school beautiful, proud, and full of spirit. Your generosity not only enhances the appearance of our school but also strengthens the bond within our community. We are deeply grateful for your unwavering support. With warm appreciation!

Early Dismissal from School

All students must check out with Ms. Espadas in the Attendance Office located in the Main Office before leaving school during the school day. Parents must also come in to check their students out, and they must present a valid ID that matches information in PowerSchool/HISD Connect. The main office will then request the student from class.

3:00 PM is the cut-off time to pick a student up early for the day. Parents arriving after 3:00 PM cannot have their student called down to the attendance office. If a student needs to be picked up early, they must be picked up before 3:00 PM.

When absent, students should turn in an excuse note (doctor’s, parent, etc…) to Ms. Espadas for filing. As a reminder, a minimum attendance requirement of 90% in each class is required to award course credit.
