Memorial Day Closure

Monday, May 26th


All offices, senior activity centers, and senior nutrition sites will be closed on Monday May 26th in observance of Memorial day. Thank you for your understanding.

Closure for Older Americans Month Celebration

Thursday, May 15th


All senior activity centers will be closed on Thursday, May 15th, for the Department of Aging and Disabilities' Older Americans Month Celebration. We will reopen on Friday, May 16th. Take-home meals for Senior Nutrition Program participants will be available on Wednesday, May 14th. I appreciate your understanding.


If you are interested in attending, please register below. Transportation will be provided upon request.

Older Americans Month Celebration

Join us for a celebration of Older Americans Month with a free event for older adults aged 55 and older! Held at the Pip Moyer Recreation Center on Thursday, May15th from 11am to 2pm. Enjoy free food, games, resource fair, and live music. Sponsored by the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities & Annapolis & Recreation and Parks. Registration Required.

Register for the Older Americans Month Celebration Here

Registration for Summer classes

begins Tuesday, May 13th


Students may register in person at the senior activity center, online at noncredit.aacc.edu or at an AACC location. Classes begin Monday, July 7th.


For all AACC students, there is an administrative fee of $80. Students aged 55 to 59 pay the $80 administrative fee plus $40 per class. 


The list of Summer classes is available at the center.

Services at the Annapolis Senior Activity Center

Senior Center Plus

Senior Center Plus is a specialized four-hour program for older adults who need minimal assistance navigating the Senior Activity Centers. To discuss the admission process, please contact Lori Litke, Program Director, at 410-222-1483.


Senior Nutrition Lunch Program

The Senior Nutrition Program (SNP) serves meals at the senior activity centers Monday through Friday at noon. To reserve a meal, you may visit the SNP site aide desk, speak with senior activity center staff, or call 410-222-0256. Please reserve your meal at least 3 days in advance. Donations are always welcomed! Please consider helping us support the Congregate Meal Program to continue providing nutritious and delicious meals to all we serve!

This is a great opportunity for experienced, intermediate, and beginning players to play, watch, and learn. Bring your current American Mah Jongg League Card and join the game. If you have a set, please bring it. Lessons will periodically be given at the center. All experience levels are welcome.

Informational Session About Dementia Prevention

The SHIELD plan was developed by Dr. Rudolph Tanzi in 2018. In this presentation, lead by Department of Aging and Disabilities staff member Kara Kilian, we will discuss how lifestyle can influence the prevention and slow the progression of a dementia diagnosis. We will go over specific interventions that can improve the overall quality of life..

Meet The Author - Elizabeth Leah Reed

Announcement for the upcoming Meet the Author event featuring Elizabeth Reed author of Mrs. Musterman. This will be held at Annapolis Senior Activity Center on May 14th from 10am to 1130am.

The Author of Mrs. Musterman: Milliner of Main Street - a biography will be visiting the center on Wednesday, May 14th. Elizabeth Leah Reed is a local author who will be available to answer questions and sign books.

No book sales will occur onsite.

Walk With Ease

A Program for Better Living

Annapolis walk with ease arthritis education and physical activity program. once a week on Wednesdays starting may 7.

Walk With Ease is a FREE 6-WEEK self-management, community-based

physical activity and arthritis education program. While walking is the central activity, this program also includes arthritis education, stretching, strengthening exercises, and motivational strategies


*All participants must be able to stand on their feet without pain for at least 10 minutes.

The Search for Meaning

Wellness Workshop with Porsche Day

This FREE Workshop is centered on spiritual wellness. This session helps participants explore their sense of purpose through activities like creating personal maps of meaning and writing affirmations. The session also incorporates gratitude meditation, encouraging participants to reflect on the positives in their lives. This class fosters a sense of fulfillment and resilience through intentional reflection and mindfulness practices.

Living Well Diabetes Self-Management

The Living Well Diabetes Self-Management program is a FREE six week course to help adults with Type 2 diabetes or who are pre-diabetic learn to manage their symptoms.

We will travel to Hurlock, Maryland and the Suicide Bridge Restaurant. Relax in the waterside atmosphere while dining on hot and spicy crabs, cool drinks, and the fellowship of friends, old and new. The 2 hour All-U-Can Eat Crab Feast will consist of steamed crabs, crab soup, fried chicken, clam strips, corn-on the cob, coleslaw, dessert, iced tea, soda, coffee, and draft beer.

Note: On the return trip home, we make a stop at an Eastern Shore Market. Bring along a cooler and take home some Eastern Shore foods, fresh baked breads, meats, soups, and salads made daily.

Annapolis Seniors, Incorporated (ASI) Meeting

Annapolis Seniors, Incorporated (ASI) is our 501(c)(3) fundraising board made up of elected members of the Annapolis Senior Activity Center. Their mission is to supplement the county's budget for supplies, services, and programs offered at the Annapolis Senior Activity Center through effective donation management and fundraising efforts.


All meetings are open to members of the Senior Center, and we encourage attendance. Please join us for the next meeting.


Join ASI to discover what happens behind the scenes in your Center! We welcome all creative ideas for fundraising, cultural programs, art activities, a unique program, or a special lunch to be offered. For example, ASI currently sponsors such programs as: Bingo, Jewelry group, Duplicate Bridge, New furniture for the center, special events such as Mother's Day, and Special Entertainment.


The Board of Annapolis Seniors, Inc. (ASI) meets on the third Thursday of each month.

Still Me Café

Still me memory cafe social group for older adults with cognitive impairments due to dementia. Held on Monday May 19th. registration for this event closes Thursday May 15th. register by clicking the link below or by calling 4102220864

The Anne Arundel County Still Me Café is for individuals living with dementia and their care partners. The café will offer a variety of 90 minute structured recreational opportunities on a monthly basis. The programs offered through the café will be structured for those who fall between those with Mild Cognitive Impairment to the early stage of dementia. Care Partners are required to be in attendance throughout each Still Me Café. In order to participate please fill out the information below. The Program Coordinator will contact you within 48 hours of submission to complete an intake form once your registration is submitted. Space is limited.

Annapolis Go Time provides on-demand transit anywhere in the city. Simply download the Transigo app, select your pickup destination and wait for your ride! The cost is $1 for older adults and people with disabilities, and $2 for everyone else.


If you are unable to install the Transigo app, you can still schedule your ride by calling Transportation Dispatch, at 410-263-7964 during service hours.
