Good Evening -
Housing Selection is officially underway and we look forward to our rising sophomores selecting their housing on Wednesday, June 16, and Thursday, June 17! As we move through the process this week, we ask that you let us know if your plans have changed for the coming year so that we do not continue to reach out.
As a reminder, for most spaces, roommate groups must fill the number of beds in the suite (or living unit) in order to reserve those rooms. For those who do not plan to select with a roommate group this week, there may be a limited number of singles available in non-suited spaces in Huffman and Martin Halls.
Our team has created a series of videos that walk through each step of the housing selection process, which can be found here. Other useful resources include the Live Availability List, which shows which rooms are available (and is updated every 15 minutes); this list is explained in one of the videos linked above and the information is available on our Housing Selection webpage.
As we move into Sophomore Selection, we also want to prepare students for the second round of our housing selection process. As we approach the end of the initial process on Thursday, there may be some students who choose not to and/or are unable to select a bed during this process. This is a normal part of our process and happens every year; some students select a bed now, then later decide to take a semester off or go abroad, etc., which then creates bed openings. As the summer goes on, we will continue to monitor continuing student plans, as well as the size of our incoming class, to make any final adjustments to our housing availability.
For those students who will end up participating in the second round, you will select your housing on Tuesday, July 20. Your selection times will be updated by the end of business on Friday, July 16 and an availability list will also be shared at that time. Your selection order will be the same, so you will not lose your place in the selection process; it will just take place on a new day. When you select your housing on July 20, you will also be able to schedule your move-in appointment.
We realize that it can feel unsettling to students to have to select in the second round. Please know we remain confident in our ability to meet the housing needs of all of our students. Finally, please remember that as your years at Wake Forest progress, your selection time for housing will be earlier and earlier. In other words, seniors will select first, then juniors, etc. We are grateful for your patience and flexibility during the selection process.
