Bust or Trust?

The Climate Change Committee invites you to participate in a webinar titled “Bust or Trust? The scientific consensus on climate change”, featuring John Cook.

In this webinar Mr. Cook will discuss methods to correct misinformation and disinformation. Although centered around the topic of climate change, the techniques are universal.

This event is sponsored by Ruplicen.org, a conservative group that advocates for free market solutions for climate change.

John Cook is a Senior Research Fellow with the Melbourne Centre for Behaviour Change at the University of Melbourne. His research focus is on using critical thinking to build resilience against misinformation. In 2007, he founded Skeptical Science, a website that won the 2011 Australia Museum Eureka Prize for the Advancement of Climate Change Knowledge. One paper that he helped author is titled, “Misinformation and Its Correction: Continued Influence and Successful Debiasing”.
