On April 13, our YMCA Silver Fins Dive Team closed out competition at Y Nationals in Orlando in a way we will not soon forget. They made history, capturing a National Championship for the first time in 15 years.

This moment is more than a win. It reflects months of discipline, early mornings, and an unwavering commitment to excellence from both our athletes and coaches. Competing at the national level takes grit and focus. Rising to the top requires something even deeper, heart, resilience, and belief in one another.

What makes this achievement especially meaningful is how it represents the very best of who we are as a Y. These athletes embody what it means to Be Well, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally, showing up each day ready to grow, support one another, and push beyond their limits.

We are incredibly proud of our Silver Fins for representing our association on the national stage and bringing home a championship that will inspire so many others in the years ahead.

Last week, we had the opportunity to come together and celebrate something truly special, the impact of our Access for All Annual Campaign.

Board members from across the association gathered for an evening filled with bowling, connection, and celebration. It was a chance to pause, reflect, and recognize the collective effort that makes this work possible. The energy in the room was a powerful reminder of what it means to Do Good, showing up for one another and for our community in meaningful ways.

We are proud to share that this year, we exceeded our campaign goal, raising an incredible $2,226,161. Every dollar will go directly toward ensuring that individuals and families in our community can access the Y, regardless of their financial circumstances.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of The Cup, awarded to the branch that achieved the highest percentage over goal. This year, that honor went to the Ross Farnsworth East Valley Family YMCA, a testament to their dedication, leadership, and commitment to our mission.

A special thank you to Metro Board members Malia Sperling and Michele Grisez, our campaign co-chairs, for serving as emcees and helping make the evening so memorable.

This is what it looks like when we come together to Do Good, opening doors, removing barriers, and strengthening our community for all.

Last Friday, we had the privilege of celebrating an incredible milestone at the Sun Devil 100 ceremony, honoring the Class of 2026.

This prestigious recognition from Arizona State University celebrates alumni entrepreneurs and leaders who are driving some of the fastest-growing organizations and making a meaningful impact across industries, communities, and society. We are especially proud to see members of our YMCA family recognized among this distinguished group.

Congratulations to Valley of the Sun YMCA staff Marcella Columbus, Beth Haugen, Ryan Knak, Artemisa Martinez, Lauren Schmitt, Amanda Siegal, and Metro Board Member Eric Bailey on this well-deserved honor.

Each of these individuals exemplifies what it means to lead with purpose. Their dedication, passion, and commitment to strengthening community are evident in the work they do every day.

This recognition is a powerful reminder that the impact of the Y extends far beyond our walls. Through their leadership, they continue to Lead Change, advancing our mission and creating lasting impact in the communities we serve.

We could not be more proud to celebrate their achievements and the example they set for our entire community.
