SUBMIT YOUR SURVEY ON-LINE OR ON PAPER BY THIS SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 11

Before the Search Committee engages in a formal process of looking for a new Rector, it's necessary to fully understand and appreciate the wants and needs of the members of the Church of the Resurrection in their next pastoral leader.

The Search Committee has prepared a survey that asks several questions about our congregation's current ministry and your own involvement. It also seeks your input on pastoral leadership and your vision for Resurrection's future.

There are 36 questions in the survey divided into seven sections:

  1. Your Church Participation (13 questions)
  2. Your Stewardship (2 questions)
  3. Your Worship Preferences (2 questions)
  4. Your Priorities for the Church of the Resurrection (1 question)
  5. The Qualities you desire in our next Rector (8 questions)
  6. The Future of the Church of the Resurrection (2 questions)
  7. Background Information about Yourself (8 questions)

We ask each member of your household 16 years of age and older complete the survey. The survey should take most people no longer than 30 minutes.

Make sure your voice is heard.

Please return the completed survey by this Sunday, September 11.

The Committee will then analyze the results and make a presentation on the findings to the congregation on Sunday, October 2 between services during the First Sunday Breakfast.

Click here to print a copy of the survey

Please note, if you complete your survey on paper that Questions 12 and 20 ask you to rank your top three choices only (one choice per column.)

If you complete the paper survey, please return it to the church in an anonymous envelope marked "Parish Survey" so that your responses can be recorded manually. Surveys may be returned in the offering plate on Sunday. Do not submit a paper survey if you have filled out the survey on-line.

Please see a member of the Search Committee if you have any questions.

From Father David +

THE PASSING OF THE QUEEN

Sisters and Brothers in Christ, we mourn the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. Her strength as a monarch and her official place in the Anglican Church reminds us of our roots as Episcopalians. I invite you to add to your prayers the Royal Family and the Church of England and all of us as Elizabeth is welcomed into the arms of Christ!

Statement from Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Michael Curry on the death of Queen Elizabeth II:

September 8, 2022

Office of Public Affairs

Today we mourn the passing and celebrate the life and legacy of Queen Elizabeth II. My prayers for peace go out for her, for her loved ones, and for all those who knew and loved her throughout the world.

Her resilience, her dignity, and her model of quiet faith and piety have been—and will continue to be—an example for so many.

May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

The Most Rev. Michael Bruce Curry

Presiding Bishop and Primate

The Episcopal Church

Her Majesty the Queen is the Supreme Governor of the Church of England. The Queen appoints archbishops, bishops and deans of cathedrals on the advice of the Prime Minister.

There are seven national administrative bodies that work together to support the mission and ministries of the Church. These are called National Church Institutions (NCIs).

Each has a role to play in helping the day-to-day work of churches across England. They serve as the Church’s central office, managing finance, education, communications, and more, to keep the Church of England growing.

They work with parishes, dioceses (regional offices), schools, other ministries and our partners at a national and international level.

The seven NCIs are:

The Archbishops' Council

Leadership, strategy and executive responsibility.

Lambeth Palace

The office and home of the Archbishop of Canterbury.

 Bishopthorpe Palace

The office and home of the Archbishop of York.

The Church Commissioners

Manages the national Church’s investment fund and provides money to support the Church’s work.

The Church of England Pensions Board

Provides retirement services for those who have served or worked for the Church.

National Society for Promoting Religious Education

Our education department.

The Church of England Central Services

HR, Finance & Resources, IT, Legal, Communications, and Record Centre.

The NCIs are separate legal entities, but they are a common employer. The present arrangements were established under the National Institutions Measure 1998.
