MOTOAMERICA - This season Bobby Fong righted the wrong of his mistakes in the last round of 2025, when he entered the final weekend in New Jersey with the lead in the Superbike Championship.
This year the roles were reversed and he made up a deficit to take the Quad Lock Superbike title. OrangeCat Racing BMW's Sean Dylan Kelley was the one who entered the final weekend leading, but left with nothing but an empty feeling.
SDK caved under the relentless pressure of defending a two-point lead and took an aggressive, do-or-die approach. Pushing on the absolute ragged edge to keep Fong behind him, Kelly’s championship hopes evaporated on the fourth lap when he lost control on the slick asphalt and crashed out of the race.
What will we see in 2027? Make your plans now to witness the outcome. Cameron Beaubier will be back on the WorldSBK spec Ducati and will surely be involved in the championship proceedings.
MotoAmerica 2027 race tickets are now available for three of their most iconic venues. You can now purchase tickets for MotoAmerica rounds at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and VIRginia International Raceway.
MotoAmerica will return to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca July 9th – 11th for the MotoAmerica Speedfest at Monterey Presented by Law Tigers. Last July, the 2.24-mile, 11-turn legend delivered a weekend sweep for JD Beach, who led every lap of both Superbike races for a flag-to-flag double.
The Supersport title fight went down to the Corkscrew itself with Binder and Herrin splitting wins, BPR Racing Yamaha teammates Bryce Kornbau and Andy DiBrino traded Super Hooligan wins by tenths, and home hero Kensei Matsudaira swept Talent Cup competition. The 2027 weekend features Quad Lock Superbike, Supersport, Mission King Of The Baggers, Mission Super Hooligan National Championship, and the Talent Cup.

The 2027 The Quad Lock Superbike season kicks off in Georgia on April 16th – 18th for three days with four additional feature classes at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. Last year Mathew Scholtz and Bobby Fong split the Superbike wins. Darryn Binder took his first Supersport victory, with Josh Herrin answering with a win and a new lap record. Hayden Gillim swept the Mission King Of The Baggers, and Kayla Yaakov made history as the first woman ever to take a MotoAmerica Supersport pole. The 2027 weekend brings Quad Lock Superbike, Supersport, Mission King Of The Baggers, Twins Cup and Talent Cup classes to the 2.54-mile, 12-turn Georgia roller-coaster.
In August, MotoAmerica returns to VIRginia International Raceway. Last August, VIR produced one of the wildest weekends of the season—Bobby Fong stretched his personal VIR winning streak to four, Loris Baz stole the show with a dramatic victory, Darryn Binder survived a three-way Supersport dogfight, 16-year-old Hank Vossberg clinched the Twins Cup championship outright, Nathan Gouker swept his home Talent Cup round, and Josh Hayes collected career win number 90. The 2027 weekend brings Quad Lock Superbike, Supersport, Twins Cup and Talent Cup back to VIR's legendary 2.25-mile course. The VIR Round will be August 13th - 15th.
Ticket options across all three weekends include General Admission and Military tickets, with upgrades available all weekend long: the two-seat Superbike experience, grid passes, the VIP Superfan package, and fan laps. Laguna Seca adds Turn 3 and high-speed hospitality — plus private suites now open for sale.

MOTOGP - First off, it is a good thing that the Saturday Sprint at the Red Bull Grand Prix of Australia was so eventful, because the fans who showed up for the last GP to be held at Phillip Island did not see a Sunday Grand Prix. That had to be cancelled because a low ceiling across the rain swept circuit prevented emergency helicopter flights due to the fog.
Marc Marquez prevailed during the Saturday Sprint in another heated contest between himself an Aprilia Racing's Jorge Martin. The Ducati rider grabbed the holeshot from pole, but Martin shot form Row 2 to P2 and the two title protagonists were locked into a showdown. Martin was briefly headed by Marc's brother Alex, but was soon back in second in pursuit of the Ducati Lenovo rider.
Martin snagged the lead with a pass on Marquez in Turn 10 on Lap 3. The two engaged in a duel on the ragged edge of adhesion. Marquez was back in front of Martin on Lap 5 in Turn 4. Three times the Martinator tried to get back in front, but was resisted by Marquez.

Something had to give and it did so when Martin lost the front in Turn 8 and went down hard and fast. Jorge rolled through the gravel and sustained fractures to his forearm and wrist.
Alex Marquez inherited P2 and the Sprint Silver Medal, with VR46 Racing's Fabio Di Giannantonio rounding out the Sprint podium.
Marco Bezzecchi took fourth ahead of Pedro Acosta, with Ai Ogura sixth at the line but was soon under investigation regarding his tire pressure. Acosta's teammate Brad Binder came home seventh ahead of Jack Miller, on the Prima Pramac Yamaha, in P8. Pro Honda LCR's Diogo Moreira was ninth, ahead of Iker Lecuona in tenth. Lecuona was standing in for the injured Fermín Aldeguer on the BK8 Gresini Ducati. Aldeguer will not participate in this weekend's GP of Malaysia.
The Sprint win, coupled with Jorge Martin's DNF allowed Marc Marquez to take a 10-point lead in the MotoGP World Championship.

WORLDSBK - A key figure in Ducati's rise in popularity has died. Bruno Spaggiari, who raced in the 1950s and 1960s passed away on October 23rd. He was 93. His name will forever be associated with Ducati and one of the most memorable races in motorcycle history.
Born on January 11, 1933 in Reggio Emilia, Italy, Spaggiari began racing in 1953. Ducati quickly recognized his talent and signed him as a factory rider. Over the course of his long career, he also raced for brands such as MV Agusta, Benelli, and Morini. In 1958, he achieved initial success on a Ducati 125 Desmo at the Nations Grand Prix in Monza and also won the Italian 125cc championship. He won the Italian title in this category again in 1964.

But it was in 1972, at the debut of the famous 200 Miglia di Imola, which was organized by Francesco "Checco" Costa (the father of Dr. Claudio Costa), where Spaggiari etched his name in history. Riding a Ducati 750 Desmo, Spaggiari engaged in a thrilling race with his British teammate, Paul Smart. The Italian led for much of the race and seemed to have victory within reach in front of his home crowd. However, in the final stages, his low fuel supply proved his undoing. Smart overtook him and won, while Spaggiari finished second.
It was a defeat that made him unforgettable to the fans. The close finish became one of the most famous stories in Ducati racing history. Spaggiari also finished second in the 1973 Imola 200. In 1972, he also achieved a third-place finish in the 500cc class at the Nations Grand Prix – a particular success for the Ducati with its characteristic twin-cylinder engine.
Bruno Spaggiari helped write some of the finest chapters in Italian motorcycling, from his victory at the Nations Grand Prix to the unforgettable battles of the 200 Miglia di Imola.
After the end of his active racing career in 1974, Spaggiari remained involved in Motorsport. With his own team, he promoted young riders, including Franco Uncini, who later won the 500cc world championship in 1982.
Bruno Spaggiari was a racing rider from an era where courage, riding skill, and mechanical intuition were crucial. He belonged to the generation that shaped Italian motorcycle racing and made Ducati a big name on international racetracks.
Next season, Pirelli will leave the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship to become the exclusive tire supplier in MotoGP, replacing Michelin. The brands will swap series with Michelin to supply tires for the Superbike Championship in 2027.
