Before I go on, allow me share a little-known secret – the real meaning of a “mojo” is something from the dark arts, voodoo and all sorts of supernatural woo stuff which is why the likes of Jim Morrison sang about and not something one should really poke around in without Holy Water back up.
You've been warned. Don't take my word for it look it up on your OED or your Websters and check it out.
Seriously though I think what my clients mean when they say they want to find their Mojo again after all this time is because life feels grey and flavourless; it's that feeling that nothing feels good any more and it's hard to register interest in almost anything. Mojo means their vim, their excitement, their purpose.
Shops are open and we will soon be able to go inside restaurants and bars but it feels like we are huffing and puffing to the start line of life again and are in no shape to spring forth on the B of the Bang or Bar's Open!
It's a form of long Covid that has sucked the life force out of us and we've hit a wall of “whatever” and one wonders what it would take to turn the colour up and get connection again.
Your Mojo Will Rise
Here's the good news though. Your Mojo will rise again but it will take time. It's a subtle thing and right now just do what you can. Sorry if that's not a sexy “coachy” motivational tip but really being patient as we find our feet again is the key.
Take the steps you can and pretty soon the path opens up. There is no race to the finish line and small pleasures, tiny joys and pebbles of glee are the journey to life-regain and Mojo re-awakening.
Tell me what gives you release, what sparks you up and what you are doing to reconnect with life and next week I will share them here and some coaching tips on super-sizing your life satisfaction.
