Week of February 25 - March 1, 2019
“We teach more with our actions
that our words could ever say."

Dear Southern Door Community,
The above quote is so true! And as a school community, this past week, our actions spoke volumes about who we are and can be as a school community.   As an alumnus from Southern Door told me after a recent basketball game, “Boy, it sure is a great time to be an Eagle. Tell everyone they are doing a fantastic job!” The girls' basketball team heads to regional finals at Sheboygan Falls on Friday. After another huge win last night and earning the Packerland Conference Championship title now for 5 years in a row, the boys basketball team will be in the regional finals at Southern Door next Friday. Our swimmers had a great showing at state last weekend, and this weekend wrestler, Grant Englebert heads to the state wrestling tourney.

Even though this tends to be a time where the light shines on our co-curricular programs, let us not forget the other important, day-to-day accomplishments here at Southern Door.  This last Wednesday brought the state ACT test, which now must be taken by all juniors in Wisconsin on the same day! We are glad the weather cooperated so this high stakes assessment could happen.

From our students' work in the classroom, social interactions, and service outreach activities, Southern Door students are striving for excellence each and every day! And don't forget - they couldn't do it without our talented, hard working staff who support them every step of the way. Having just finished another successful round of parent-teacher conferences this week, we are reminded of the importance of everyone's role. Together with students, families and community, we are Eagle Strong and Eagle Proud!
