April was filled with lively celebration, growth and community engagement. Here's quick recap of our month:

NEW HIRES

Aryanna Gregoire, Legal Administrative Assistant

Aryanna Gregoire joins Hoover Krepelka, LLP as our newest Legal Assistant!

Prior to joining the firm, Aryanna worked at a Silicon Valley-based law firm providing business counsel and representation to companies of all sizes, where she gained valuable experience in litigation support, arbitration and mediation filings, and managing legal compliance for 20 attorneys across multiple state and federal bars. Aryanna is also a natural leader, having trained and managed teams in the F&B industry to meet high service demands, demonstrating strong attention to detail, time management, and customer service skills that make her an invaluable addition to the team.

Outside of her professional life, Aryanna is passionate about crocheting, knitting, and baking, with a special love for cupcakes. She recently achieved a blackout bingo in the Bay Area Yarn Crawl, visiting all 22 yarn stores in the area. Aryanna is also the proud mom of Morrison, an almost two-year-old Sphynx cat who keeps her on her toes.

IMPORTANT DATES/RECOGNITIONS

Administrative Professionals' Day

On April 23rd, our team celebrated Administrative Professionals' Day over an indulgent luncheon at Boulder Ridge Golf Club.

It was a rare opportunity to pause, connect, and express our heartfelt appreciation for the incredible administrative professionals whose dedication and attention to detail keep our firm running smoothly. We are incredibly grateful for our staff's daily commitment, positivity, and the heart they bring to HK. Their impact is invaluable.

The highlight of the event was going around the table and sharing what we admire most about each other. It turned into a purposeful moment, filled with gratitude and inspiration, and reminded us just how lucky we are to work alongside one another as a team.

"How Social Media Posts Can Be Used as Evidence in Divorce Cases", "How Remarriage or Cohabitation Affects Spousal Support in California", and "How Will My Startup Be Evaluated in a Divorce?"

Social media activity during divorce can impact property division, financial support, and custody decisions, as posts— even deleted ones—may reveal damaging financial or behavioral information used as evidence in court.

In California, spousal support can be modified or terminated due to remarriage or cohabitation, with remarriage automatically ending support under Family Code § 4337 and cohabitation potentially reducing or terminating it under Family Code § 4323 if the supporting party proves a significant change in circumstances, making legal guidance crucial.

In a divorce, a startup may be subject to division—especially in community property states like California—if founded or increased in value during the marriage, requiring expert valuation and legal precautions like prenuptial agreements to protect ownership.

"Oh the bump you'll adore, and the joy that's in store,

A new little human, whom we already adore!"

Hoover Krepelka, LLP had the sweetest celebration held at the office, a baby shower in honor of Senior Associate, Stephanie Huang.

A big thank you to Senior Associate, Joy Diaz, and Senior Counsel, Christine Pham, for putting together such a heartwarming event full of trivia, baby block-making, bib-painting, quality time, and Seuss-worthy cheer.

Wishing Stephanie and her growing family all the magic this next chapter brings.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley's

Donor Appreciation Reception

The 1st Annual Donor Appreciation Reception took place on April 24th at the original Smythe Clubhouse in San Jose, CA. The evening was dedicated to recognizing individuals who make the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley possible.

The reception united supporters, board members, and staff for a heartfelt evening, highlighted by BGCSV's 2025 Youth of the Year Alina’s emotional speech that moved many to tears. Guests explored interactive tables showcasing BGCSV’s programs, from STEM to leadership, and heard inspiring updates on the organization’s growth from two to twelve clubhouses, with an inspiring plan to renovate the Smythe Clubhouse in the next year.
