Thanks to the generosity of eight Merengue stars, 46 sponsors, and countless individuals, it was an incredible night to advance generational change through transformational education. On Saturday, November 15, more than $880,000 was raised to support Cristo Rey Jesuit students at this year's Milwaukee Stars Merengue event! Congratulations to our 2025 Grand Ballroom Champion, Tony Mallinger, who raised the most money to support CRJ Trailblazers. In addition, congratulations to Hannah Boyd for winning the Judges' Choice award for best dance performance of the evening. Thank you to everyone in the Cristo Rey Jesuit community for making this such an incredible night.
Thank you to Randy and Amy Spaulding for being this year's honorary event chairs. Thank you to emcees Yve Rojas and Rollie Cafaro and judges David Caruso, Gaulien Smith, and Anne Zizzo for an incredibly entertaining show. Thank you to alumni Carlos Betancourt, '22 and Maricarmen Dorantes, '21 for sharing their CRJ experiences. Thank you to all of the CRJ student performers for adding their talents to the show, and thank you to all of the volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make everything come together smoothly.
We invite you to watch and share Maricarmen's story that was shared on Saturday evening. While voting may be closed and a new ballroom champion has been crowned, you can still make a donation to support Cristo Rey Jesuit High School students.
