York Prep Families,
This morning at 9:30 am, York Prep conducted a lockdown drill with our students and staff as part of our school safety procedures. York Prep is committed to providing a safe educational environment for our students and staff. To do so, York Prep has taken practical steps to ensure school safety including but not limited to: increased campus security, safety drills, indoor and outdoor recorded cameras, school policies, and police searches.
As part of our lockdown drill, a notification text was sent to the primary emergency contact numbers for each student. If you did not receive a text, please contact your building receptionist to review the emergency contact information for your student. In addition, please take a moment to review our School Emergency Plan.
Our biggest promoter of school safety is YOU, and everyone can help keep our school safe by reporting concerns anonymously using York Prep's Safe School Helpline! The Safe School Helpline is designed to assist our school community members in reporting any potential threats of violence, theft, drug or alcohol use, weapons, or sexual harassment. Reports are anonymous and can be made by leaving a message at 1-800-4-1-VOICE, ext. 359 (418-6423) or texting 66746 then type TIPS. Any illegal actions or false reports meant to intentionally disrupt school may be turned over to authorities for investigation/prosecution.
We thank you for your continued partnership and look forward to a safe and successful school year!
