From Vision to Creation: New Designs Are Coming Soon!

This is the month where I start to pull together and finalize some designs. I rarely sketch out my designs--I just sorta see them in my head an go from there, but the new street art and graphite on enamel designs will require some sketching and a bit more planning!

This is colored pencil drawn on a copper patina base.

There are multiple layers of coloring/shading done to get to the final stage.

Then everything gets individually nail head riveted together to a sterling silver back plate

I have to carefully plan the designs,and how they will all be riveted together.These designs are all 3D~~Each layer is lifted above each other.

Now, graphite on enamel is a whole other technique. Again, working with copper, the shape is counter enameled, then the white fired on. You need to give the shiny enamel some 'tooth' before you can draw on it with graphite. Then the piece gets fired again.

NYC Street Art Inspiration

I am lucky to live a quick car ride away from these inspiring works of art.

Take a ride to LIC and Astoria and look around. The historic 5 points art may be gone, but there are many more works to be found on the streets!

Here is a festive cocktail recipe for Valentine's Day

Cupid's Arrow

Ingredients

1 1/2 oz. vanilla vodka
1 1/2 oz. strawberry liqueur
1 oz. pineapple juice
1/2 oz. coconut cream
Shredded coconut

Directions

Mix all ingredients except shredded coconut in a shaker with ice, and shake well. Dip the rim of the glass in the pineapple juice and then into the shredded coconut. Pour cocktail into the glass and ENJOY
