LOWER SCHOOL SWIFITES PAY TRIBUTE TO WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH

Students from EK to fourth grade came together during Tecolote Tuesday's Assembly to celebrate Women's History Month by singing Taylor Swift songs. With their music teacher Molly Markstrum leading the way, the students belted out Swift's empowering lyrics, embracing the spirit of female strength and resilience.

This week, Middle School Science Instructor Zach Moore joined Fourth grade students to delve into the Ruben's tube as part of their sound unit, alongside Music teacher Molly Markstrum. Mr. Moore captivated the students with his explanation of the relationship between sound waves and sound pressure. This collaborative effort across different divisions exemplifies the school's commitment to interdisciplinary learning.
EMPATHY FUELS SIXTH GRADERS TO RAISE $1,200 FOR UNICEF

Sixth grade students recently embarked on a meaningful journey with Alan Gratz's Refugee. Beyond exploring its pages, they developed a deep empathy for refugees worldwide. Inspired by the characters' resilience, they organized a bake sale to raise funds for UNICEF, baking treats, making posters, and spreading the word with determination and enthusiasm. The school community rallied behind them, resulting in nearly $1,200 raised. This experience taught them the power of empathy and collective action, illustrating how literature can inspire positive change and compassion in young minds.
MOCK TRIAL TEAM TAKES FOURTH PLACE

The Mock Trial team's hard work, dedication, and outstanding legal acumen culminated in a commendable fourth place finish in the SB County Mock Trial Competition. Despite contending with opponents from larger schools, their ability to navigate complex legal scenarios, articulate persuasive arguments, and demonstrate a deep grasp of legal principles set them apart from their competitors. The judges were impressed by their poise, professionalism, and cohesive teamwork. Well done, Owls!
