Welcome to September
September begins with a holiday on day one, Labor Day. We will be closed and open as usual on Tuesday. This month brings Fall in officially, even though it takes time for the weather to catch up to the calendar. I look forward to the cooler nights and mornings and still enjoy the warm afternoons.
Of course this is my birth month and this year is my eightieth. Wow, I don't feel any older, ninety is looking younger all the time. We will be having a sale at the shop to celebrate on the Friday and saturday September 12th and 13th. It will be 20% off all merchandise except consigned items. As I mentioned last month I will be in Monterey but Alyson will be there to help.
I was notified today that our new fall colors of Huasco sock weight will be arriving next week and our Dream in Color Pop UP color of the month starts back up. I will also be getting more yarns in October if all goes as ordered.
A large percent of my yarns come from out of country and the tariff situation has begun to affect my ability to either accommodate new higher prices or even the availability of yarn and needles. Most of my distributors have been sending out new price lists and some had to discontinue to sell certain brands. We will just have to wait and see how this goes. Fingers crossed.
I have been knitting away on my Garden Cardigan and I am finally on the sleeves. I'm wanting to finish as I have two other projects I'm excited to start. The first one is the Ida Tee by Petit Knits. I will be using our new Modern Cotton by Berroco. I also have a couple of others I'm eyeing. I've included some our our knitters works in progress. I love having our groups here as it is so inspiring. We laugh a lot and help each other. If you haven't been part of a group please give it a try. Wednesday and Friday afternoon and Saturday morning and afternoon till 3pm.
