Clinical Breast Assessment
NCoBC 2024 Pre-Conference
Friday, March 15, 2024 - Paris Las Vegas
Earn 7.5 credits for the day.
Clinical Breast Assessment (CBA) involves a comprehensive evaluation of a patient with breast concerns including: current breast problems, history, risk assessment, clinical breast exam, appropriate imaging, follow up with biopsy and pathology when indicated. CBA helps ensure the earliest detection of breast cancer, allowing for improved morbidity and mortality. Comprehensive CBA also allows us to appropriately screen high risk women and high-risk populations.
The multidisciplinary team of experts participating in this pre-conference course will present updates in screening, risk assessment (including genetics), clinical breast exam, imaging, and pathology. Participants will also learn about how the latest diagnostic imaging is applied when common focal findings are found on the breast. Additionally, we will review important tools for prevention and risk reduction including lifestyle and risk reducing medications.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in interactive clinical case presentations with a panel of experts, to improve critical thinking for the patient presenting with breast concerns. There will be a Certificate of Attendance. Clinical practice will be offered at the end of the day, for those who are interested in CBE instruction.
