Health System Impact

A local state of emergency is underway and Dauphin Regional Health Centre, including the emergency department, is closed until further notice.

  • Severe flooding in Dauphin, Swan River and the Parkland region forced the evacuation of Dauphin Regional Health Centre this week.

  • 54 patients were evacuated Wednesday, including one infant.

  • Triage services are being provided near the hospital through a mobile clinic as well as the Community Health Services Building which sits adjacent to Dauphin Regional Health Centre.

  • All surgeries and endoscopy procedures were cancelled for seven days from Wednesday.

  • All X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI and lab appointments have been cancelled until further notice.

  • Cancer, dialysis and maternity patients will be contacted directly with instructions or more information about how to continue treatments or receive care.

Because of the exceptional collaboration and coordination of care from physicians and colleagues across the province, all 54 patients evacuated from Dauphin Regional Health Centre Wednesday arrived safely at their receiving sites across the province.
