Watch: Ann Arbor Circular Economy Action Plan Webinar

On Friday, March 13, Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations shared updates on the city’s Circular Economy Action Plan and its role in advancing community‑wide carbon neutrality by 2030.

The presentation covered progress across natural systems, food systems, consumer goods, and community resilience. Highlights included the early completion of the 10,000 Trees Initiative, continued growth of the plant‑based pledge program with VegMichigan, expanded clothing swaps and new skill‑building workshops, and ongoing work to train neighborhood ambassadors and establish resilience hubs. The team also noted that the Circular Economy Action Plan is in Phases 2 and 3, with a final version expected in September 2026.

During the Q&A, the A2Zero team noted strong community interest in circular economy efforts and discussed upcoming recommendations for sectors such as construction and demolition. They also emphasized the need for broader social infrastructure to support behavior changes, and highlighted positive responses to tree giveaways and electronics collection events. Thank you to everyone who joined the webinar and contributed to the discussion!
