Small Business Administration - Changes, Updates, & News

What's Happening to the Small Business Certification?

August 12 - 1:00 p.m.

Govology is providing an update on changes for the Small Business Administration (SBA) certification programs.

A few quick takeaways:

8(a): Applications have been frozen, and SBA is considering significant changes to the program's eligibility requirements.

VetCert: The program is fully operational. If you're eligible for SDVOSB or VOSB certification, there's no reason to wait.

WOSB/EDWOSB: The program remains operational, although there are important developments businesses should be following.

HUBZone: The HUBZone map changed on July 1, 2026, so certified firms and companies considering certification should verify their locations.
