IMMEDIATE OPENING: CIRA Yale AIDS Prevention Training Fellowship Seeks New Applicants  Applications are invited for one full-time, two-year Post Doctoral Fellowship position for scholars with a PhD, MD, and/or JD degrees. Trained within CIRA, fellows work closely with a research mentor from among the Center's primary training faculty. The program provides a unique focus on:
- Professional development
- Setting clear expectations for scholarly research productivity
- Establishment of a program of research and the creation of professional identity in preparation for an academic career
- Support to write articles for publication and prepare extramural grant applications
- Training in research methods and ethics
- Participation in CIRA and other Yale HIV-related seminars and colloquia
- Community-based implementation science research to reduce and prevent HIV

Across the country, HIV service organizations and providers are working with people with HIV to support adherence to antiretroviral medications during the COVID-19 pandemic and to maintain ongoing access to HIV testing, prevention, and care services. HIV.gov has curated a collection of key federal resources related to HIV and COVID-19 to assist in this effort.

- TellYourContacts.com - A New COVID-19 Contact Notification Tool + Resource Page for Sexual Health & COVID-19
TellYourContacts allows individuals who have tested positive to COVID-19 to notify their contacts via text or email that they may have been exposed. They may do so using a pre-populated message or a personalized one, and may either sign the message or send it anonymously. The contact gets a message encouraging them to follow CDC guidelines for home isolation and to go to CDC’s Coronavirus page for a self-checker and recommendations. No personal identifying information is ever stored.

CIRA Offers Career Development Consultations to Affiliated Junior Faculty and Postdocs  To further strengthen mentoring activities, CIRA's Development Core offers Career Development Consultations to affiliated junior faculty and post-doctoral fellows and associates. The consults provide an invaluable opportunity to receive tailored career advice from senior faculty at Yale, focusing on everything from the development of K awards to the right approach to getting published, and all set in an informal and confidential setting.

Why CIRA peer review? What are the benefits?
- The spirit of our program is one of collegiality and respect; it is constructive rather than evaluative in nature
- The investigator or author receives constructive feedback from a multidisciplinary group of colleagues with relevant expertise
- It facilitates a discussion on how to communicate the content more clearly and effectively
- The process allows the investigator or author to practice how to respond to reviewer feedback
- The review sessions connect the investigator or author to a useful network for expanding knowledge and exploring potential collaborations across disciplines
- It provides input on the relevancy of the proposal/manuscript/presentation to the funding agencies/mechanisms, journals, and audience

Research Snapshot Series  CIRA's Research Snapshot series features one page summaries of completed, peer reviewed and published studies conducted by our affiliated scientists. The summaries describe the reason for the study, the key findings, and implications for practice and policy, presented in plain language. Each of the briefs also include a link to a published article in a peer reviewed journal that derives from the featured study.
