450 City-owned lots available for Purchase

Applications open for new ChiBlockBuilder sites


Beginning Oct. 1, a new round of applications is open for more than 450 City-owned lots. Parcels are available for private purchase and designated for commercial, residential, and mixed-use construction, as well as side yards, open space, and urban agriculture.

Applications are due by Nov. 16, except where noted on the listing page

PRO vs. FAIR

The full City Council vote was postponed to allow for negotiations between dueling camps. This is an evolving, fluid situation: tenant organizers and several alderpersons are pushing aggressively for sweeping rules, but they are meeting strong pushback from those working to protect local development and keep housing costs manageable.
