PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear HMS Families,

What a wonderful weekend for our Fox community! I want to extend a huge thank you to PTA President Annie Tang and the entire Hauntington Committee for putting together such a fantastic Hauntington Breakfast. The creativity, planning, and countless volunteer hours that go into making this event a success are truly remarkable. It was wonderful to see so many of our families enjoying the festivities together! I also have to give a special shoutout to Ms. Summer Cervantez, who helped me secure a victory in the Battle of the Generations game. I'm not saying we're ready to defend our title next year, but we're certainly not ruling it out!

Meanwhile, our sixth graders are having an incredible time at Cuyamaca this week! Outdoor Education is such a memorable experience, providing opportunities for students to build friendships, develop independence, and challenge themselves in new ways. I'm sure that by the time they return on Friday, they'll be more than ready for some fast food, a long shower, and a well-deserved nap! A special thank you to our staff members who are spending the week making this experience possible.

I also want to share a quick reminder regarding backpacks. If your child needs an accommodation to use a rolling backpack, whether due to a medical necessity or because they are smaller in stature, please email me directly so we can make the appropriate arrangements. I also encourage families to take a few minutes to go through their child's backpack together and remove any unnecessary items. A little backpack cleanout can go a long way toward lightening the load!

Finally, Halloween is this Friday, and students are welcome to wear costumes to school! We ask that all costumes remain school-appropriate, follow dress code guidelines, and do not interfere with instruction or distract from learning. Masks and face coverings are not permitted, and this restriction includes inflatable costumes. We appreciate your help in keeping the day festive while maintaining a productive learning environment.

Thank you, as always, for your partnership and for making Huntington such a wonderful community. Wishing everyone a fun, safe, and happy Halloween!

Go Foxes!

Best,

Michelle Cota

Principal, Huntington Middle School

HAUNTINGTON BREAKFAST

Every year, Hauntington Breakfast brings our community together in extraordinary ways. But this year, we stepped into a whole new dimension. When the call went out, our community answered. The lights flickered on, the portals opened, and what started as an idea transformed into something truly unforgettable. With a little Hawkins magic and a whole lot of heart, our school became a world filled with friendship, laughter, and memories that will last long after the Christmas lights come down. Behind every game, every pancake, every decoration, and every magical moment was a team of people who gave their time, energy, creativity, and heart to make it all possible.

To our incredible committee members, volunteers, Principal Cota, Assistant Principal Adams, teachers, staff, patrons, and sponsors — you were the real heroes of this adventure. You showed up early. You stayed late. You solved problems, faced challenges, and made the impossible possible. And just like the friendships at the heart of Stranger Things, you reminded us that the greatest things happen when we stand together. Because the real magic of Hauntington Breakfast has never been about the theme, the decorations, or even the incredible attractions. It's about the people. The friendships. The teamwork. The community that shows up for one another, year after year.

WITH HEARTFELT THANKS TO...

OUR AMAZING VOLUNTEERS

To our dedicated parents, SMHS students, NCL, and every helping hand who stepped up along the way — we couldn't have done it without you.

To everyone who donated, volunteered, sponsored, participated, or simply showed up to support our school: you are what makes this community extraordinary. As we close the gate on another unforgettable Hauntington Breakfast, we are reminded that even in a world turned upside down, the strongest force isn't something supernatural. It's kindness. It's generosity. It's friendship. It's a community that refuses to let anyone face a challenge alone.

Because here at Huntington, we know something even the kids in Hawkins would understand:

Friends don't leave friends behind.

And Friends Support Foxes. Always.

With deepest gratitude and pride,

Your PTA President

Annie Tang

Same School. Different Dimension. One Extraordinary Community.
