Last Chance to See The Suitcase Project

Exhibition Closes November 8, 2026

Your final opportunity to see The Suitcase Project at the MOV will be Sunday, November 8th. Photographer Kayla Isomura asked more than 80 fourth and fifth generation Japanese Canadians and Americans: “What would you pack if you were forcibly removed from your home today?” The result are photographs showing subjects with their luggage and what they decided to pack, as well as information about the internment/incarceration their parents, grandparents and great grandparents faced during World War Two. You can get a preview of the exhibition through this interview Kayla did with Tom Power on CBC's Q.

And a reminder that Press Start: A Vancouver Game History Pop-Up will be closing the same weekend, with Saturday, November 7th being the last day. They were recently featured in Montecristo Magazine! Reminder that their hours are different than the MOV’s: Fridays and Saturdays: noon – 8:00pm and Sundays: noon – 5:00pm only.

Final Austerity Tour & Closing Panel Discussion

Wednesday, October 21, 2026

We have been overwhelmed by the interest in our Austerity Tours. Not only did the first set sell out, as did the added tours, but there was interest from media too. Global TV featured the tours as did The Art Newspaper, which was picked up by USA Art News and ODATV, a Turkish media outlet, in addition to influencers in the museum world including MuseumNext and Sotheby’s Institute of Art lecturer Will Jarvis. There was also a spot on Fairchild TV's TalentVision and we’re also expecting more coverage coming soon.

So, we’re adding one more tour. Only this time, we’re also adding a panel discussion with a cultural workers and advocates who are experiencing similar situations at their organizations.

The two events are on the same day, but tickets are being sold separately, and both are by donation. Find the links to reserve your spot here.

We're Number 3!

Or Number 1, Depending on How You Look at It

The Georgia Straight has announced their Best of Vancouver 2026 Award Winners and thanks to everyone who voted, the Museum of Vancouver has been voted in third place in the Best Museum category in the Arts & Entertainment section!

We don’t mean to quibble… but isn’t MOA technically not in Vancouver? And isn’t Science World more of a science centre than a museum? So doesn’t that make us number one?

But let’s put these semantics aside… you really should visit all three of us. Did you know that you can get discounted tickets to most Vancouver attractions through the Vancouver Attractions website? If you bundle tickets to multiple attractions, you can save up to 35%! Check it out, and we hope to see you at the MOV soon!
