It Seemed Good Series
What happens when faithful Christians disagree about something that really matters? Acts 15 gives us a remarkable picture of the early church wrestling together with an extremely difficult question. They debate, listen to one another, pay attention to what God is doing, search the Scriptures, seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and eventually move forward together. This series explores how we can pursue God’s will without demanding our own way… learning to disagree with grace, listen with humility, discern through Scripture, and trust the Holy Spirit to lead God’s people together.
Sunday, November 8th: After Much Debate
The leaders gather in Jerusalem, and Luke tells us there is “much debate.” But something changes when Peter begins telling the story of what God has done among the Gentiles. Paul and Barnabas add their testimony, and eventually the arguing gives way to listening. Christian discernment requires more than making a convincing argument. It requires humility, the willingness to listen to others and recognize that God may be working in ways we did not anticipate. Sometimes discerning God’s direction begins when we stop defending our position long enough to pay attention.
| Last Sunday, we shared about the Financial Report for our modified fiscal year (Jan 2026-July 2026), you can check out the report HERE. | | Daily Prayers, Digging Deeper Guide and Sermon Notes that include Weekly Updates, Discussion Questions, and Response Suggestions are available each week on Sunday to further explore this Sermon Series. This week in Adventure: Kids, the Explorers and Investigators will continue learning about Joseph’s journey after arriving in Egypt, focusing on his experiences there. They’ll see how God remained with Joseph—both when he rose to power and when he was placed in prison—showing God’s faithfulness in every circumstance. (Genesis 39:20b-21)
Meanwhile, the Adventurers and Trailblazers will be learning about Job’s story. They’ll explore how, even after enduring pain and heartache, Job continued to worship God and experienced God’s presence through it all. (Job 19:25-27)
We can't wait to see you this Sunday!

Thanksgiving Baskets, Christmas Baskets, & Giving Tree
If you or someone in the church or community are in need of a food basket or Christmas gifts for kids, and are accepting of the help, please provide them with the link to this form to fill out. Please make sure this is filled out and returned to Adventure of Faith Church by November 8th.
The Outreach and Deacon teams are partnering together this year to provide food baskets and gifts for those in need in our church and community. If you would like to support this ministry, you can be a part of it in several ways:
Donate to Baskets: to the Thanksgiving & Christmas Basket Fund, by visiting our Giving Page and selecting that fund from the drop down menu. The estimated cost for a food basket this year is $150, but any amount is helpful! Please write "food basket" in the memo line for checks.
Give: We are collecting specific non-perishable, non-expired food items for the Christmas Baskets. If you signed up for something last week, please drop that off in the red wagon by the front door. Thank you for your generosity, over half the list is taken care of, but we still could use more tuna or chicken packets, jars of pasta sauce, and jars of jam. There will be another round of sign ups on November 29th. If you have questions about what you signed up for email us HERE.
Participate in the Giving Tree: Fill a gift tag when they are available at the end of November. Or contribute to the Giving Tree fund so we can collaboratively get presents for tags that need filling. (There is a "Giving Tree" fund in the drop down menu on our giving page, or write "giving tree" in the memo line for checks).
Volunteer: Info coming soon on helping pack Christmas Baskets and wrapping Giving Tree Gifts.
Thank you for helping us care for our community this holiday season!

Kids Advent Movie Afternoon: Join us on Sunday, November 22nd to watch a Christmas Movie with your church family! We will start the movie at 4:30pm and then enjoy a pizza dinner, and then, if you'd like to join us, we will help make the church look festive! We don't want to add just another thing to do on our already full calendars. More than anything, we just want to be able to offer an opportunity for our Adventure Kids and their families to take an afternoon to gather and kick off our Christmas season together.
Advent Decorating Day: Help us to decorate and prepare for the season on Sunday, November 22nd at 6:00pm. Many hands make light work and kids and youth are welcome to come and help with their grown ups! A pizza dinner will be provided.
Advent Kick-Off: Join us on Sunday, November 29th at 6:00pm for a night of worship, tree lighting, cookies and cocoa to usher in the joy and wonder of this Advent season.

This section is a weekly reminder that God is Good!
He is good to us every single day & we will praise His name!
| | Thank you to everyone who donated candy, hosted a trunk, volunteered as a candy runner or for parking, or even just came to enjoy last Saturday night alongside our neighbors! We had so much fun bringing the light and joy of Jesus to all in this simple way at our Trick or Treat Trail! God is Good! | | |
This space in the newsletter is a small way we continue to celebrate the goodness of God all year long, and practice being aware of His presence in our lives. So, if you have stories of God's goodness big or small, hit reply to this email and send them our way. We would love to hear them, pray in praise over them and talk to you about sharing them.
To spur thoughts on God's goodness, consider asking yourself these questions:
What Good have you witnessed recently?
What Good has God brought into your life?
What Good has God prompted you to do for one another?
God is Good!!
