LIMESTONE & BRICK RESTORATION UPDATE

Simpson Plastering continues their 210 Day work repairing and restoring all exterior limestone and masonry around the building. The majority of the brick around the upper portion of the gym has been removed in preparation for a new internal waterproof layer to be added. Also, the crew is almost finished identifying all areas where brick and limestone need repairing and/or replacing and cutting out limestone mortar joint grout to fix cracks. You have likely noticed that their current work is focused around the Sanctuary, which required covering the stained glass windows for protection. The red taping creates an extra festive effect for the Advent season! Additionally, they have begun pressure washing all exterior surfaces with cleanser (including the roof) and spraying new waterproof sealant.

The timeline and scope of work continues to go as planned thanks to the hard work of the excellent crew and very agreeable weather. We are extremely pleased with and impressed by the general contractor, Stephen Ward & Associates, and the construction company, Simpson Plastering.

CHILDREN’S WING

RENOVATIONS UPDATE

NEW FLOORING

Commercial Flooring completed the installation of the new flooring in the Aldersgate Children’s Wing classrooms over the week of Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, they were unable to complete the Aldersgate hallway due to a box of tiles broken in delivery. They have been reordered and will be installed as soon as possible. No additional cost was incurred.

The Child Development Center and Children's Ministry Teams will be collaborating with our Facilities Team at the first of the year to finalize the artistic plan for the Noah's Ark theme, then painting and artwork will be scheduled. Again, the goal is for these hallways to reflect our vibrant ministry with our children and draw them running toward God’s Promises!

NEW CABINETS

LOC Scientific installed all new cabinets, countertops, and sinks during the week of Thanksgiving. Plus, new cubbies and shelves were installed by Trinity's Facility Maintenance Coordinator, Austin Malone, and our TCDC Staff. Everything looks AMAZING!! If you haven't walked down the Children's Wings in a while, be sure to do so. The classrooms are so much cleaner, brighter, and more functional, and our children, families, and staff couldn't be happier with the changes!

EXTRA: KITCHEN FLOORING UPDATE

New kitchen flooring was installed the week of Thanksgiving as well. The new surface is more sanitary and easier to clean. And the true test: Chef Phil and Ms. Cecelia give it their thumbs up approval!

EXTRA: HVAC UNITS

As the winter season approaches, we have unfortunately encountered the unanticipated failure of three HVAC units (Chancel, Narthex, and Choir Room). The Chancel unit requires complete replacement and the Narthex and Choir Room units require repairs to the compressor. The total cost for this work is approximately $50,000. If you would like to make an above & beyond contribution to this need, please label your gifts for Building/Maintenance HVAC or go to trinityhsv.org/donate. The Trustees are currently using Cole Mechanical to assess all our units and develop a maintenance plan that is incorporated into the 2024 Building/Maintenance Fund.
