Greetings Connect K8 Families,

We hope you've had a wonderful week and that the long weekend proves restful and enjoyable for your family!

We wanted to share a few important reminders before we return for a short week on Tuesday:

  • During drop off and pick up, please follow the flow of traffic, and if you are choosing the valet line, please remain in your car! If you would like to get out of your car, please choose to park in our parking lot. It is crucial that we maintain the flow of traffic for safety of our families and for our neighbors

  • While we love to see your furry friends, dogs are not allowed on campus

  • Please remind your students of our dress code (handbook can be found at the footer of this email)--we are seeing many thin straps and midriff tops on campus. Students should also wear closed toe shoes at all times and choose clothing without any inappropriate language or graphics


Finally, we want to remind you that your Independent Study Enrollment Agreement (ISEA) must be signed by you AND your student no later than September 16th. It is imperative that this document is accurately completed and on record to remain enrolled in our program. Please see the e-mail from Jacob and subsequent blog post for more info.

Labor Day
No School Monday 9/6/21 in observation of Labor Day. Enjoy the long weekend!
Chromebooks for Students!
If you are a returning family who borrowed a chromebook last year and have not yet returned it, please return it and any other devices (chargers, hot spots, etc.) to the front office ASAP!

If you are a family who needs to borrow a chromebook for your student, you can complete this Request Form. If/When a chromebook becomes available to you, Kaitlin or Tami will reach out with next steps. Please know that we have a limited supply of chromebooks available for distribution, so only complete this form if it's a true need. Thank You!
Picture Day!
September 14th, 15th, and 16th
Picture Day will take place on your child's cohort day during school. If you are Remote or Autonomous, you can come to campus for school pictures from 9:00am-12:00pm on Wednesday September 15th.

Students may wear a "picture day outfit" and change back into school clothes afterward if they'd like. All school pictures must be appropriate for school.

Meal Program at Connect!
We are so excited that the state of CA has announced that school meals (breakfast and lunch) are FREE for all students! You can drop your student off at Connect on their school day for breakfast as early as 8:45 am. You can browse meal menus HERE.

If your child has a dietary restriction, please complete this form and submit to our front office.

If you are in the Remote program or would like to take advantage of free meals on your homeschool day, you can pick up lunch (and breakfast for the next day!) at 201 N. Douglas St. from 11:00am-11:30 am every weekday!

ATTN: Core 4 Families! We need your help! The Multi-Cultural Fair is coming up! If you can join the planning committee, e-mail Jahmal! Of course, any family can help plan an event--the more the merrier. If you're in a different Core and want to help, we'd love to have you!

Daily Read A Louds with Julia!
One of our amazing teachers, Julia Rivera, will be offering a read aloud from 2:30-3:00 every weekday, M-F!! She will be reading some of her favorite picture books, that are enjoyable for students TK-8th grade. Feel free to join her at her zoom link for this wonderful way to end a school day!

  • Science4Us Onboarding Workshop (Grades TK-2)
9/7 from 1-2:30pm
Science4Us is an online science program for kids TK-2nd Grade. It's a program that helps you provide a solid S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering and math) foundation for your kids. Plus, it teaches science while building literacy skills, which is an extra bonus.
Join a virtual training on Science 4 Us, led by an experienced Explore Learning trainer. This training will show you how to access your account, set up your dashboard and get your students engaging in fun science exploration!
