Is Your Family Soul in Muskoka?
By Scott Young, Executive Director
My job allows me to do some very cool things. One of my favourites is walking the land with families. One experience that stands out is a hike on an island led by a barefooted man who was overflowing with stories connected to the incredible pocket of unspoiled nature they had simply chosen to let alone for five generations. <Read more>

When I joined Muskoka Conservancy in December 2025, I knew a busy field season was ahead. After months of planning, scheduling, and waiting for the snow to disappear, the floodgates opened. From early spring through fall, no two days in the field were quite the same—and that was part of the fun. <Read more>

Thank you for being part of Muskoka Conservancy. Your support helped protect five new areas last year—1,565 acres of wetlands, wildlife habitat, and other natural lands. Today, we care for 62 properties, protecting 6,700 acres and 85,000 feet of shoreline across Muskoka.
We have an ambitious goal to double the amount of land we protect in 10 years. Please renew your annual membership at $95 or more, and consider making an additional gift to help protect more land. You can also give monthly or leave a legacy gift of funds, securities, or land in your will. <Read more>

Next year, Muskoka Conservancy celebrates 40 years of coming together to care for Muskoka’s natural heritage. There’s a lot to celebrate.
Our achievements are measured in more than acres. It’s the generations of donors, volunteers, landowners, staff, and community members whose care and generosity have made this work possible. Their stories—and the places they helped protect—will be at the heart of our anniversary celebration. <Read more>
