Christmas in July?

It may be too early for many of us to think about Christmas when it seems like summer is just starting, but now is the time we need to start thinking about our Christmas orders.

Carrying an inventory such as ours creates unique challenges and each year those challenges seem to compound. We'd like to highlight some of our selections that have such a wide range of possibilities that you may want to pre-order to ensure we have what you want, when you want it.

These latex rubber and clothes pin sculptures come in a such a variety of characters, there's likely to be one for you and everyone on your gift giving lists. Zortz, whether they are from the Orginals, Classix, or Gargoyles can hold almost anything you can imagine; from keys to toothbrushes, to notes and eyeglasses! Pozers come in all the same characters, but have legs and arms to hang onto larger items, like your cell phone or a calculator on your desk. They help to keep those items easily visible and keep from getting buried. You can even put a post it tablet in one's mouth and a pen in their hand! Will Carswell - Wood Puzzles
These artisanal, hand designed, heirloom quality wooden jigsaw puzzles come in a variety of sizes and gorgeous prints with clever cuts and intricate designs that will surely please any puzzler. Each puzzle has anywhere from 1 to 10 special figural pieces (based on size) and a number of internal straight edges to make even the smallest puzzle a little challenging. The Peapod Puzzles are great for children 4 to 8 years of age, or anyone that has a bit of a dexterity issue. You can even get custom made puzzles (but they require a minimum purchase).

Another artist with so many choices - f rom puzzles and games to ciphers and magic - it's hard to pick which ones to have on hand. Nearly any puzzle of difficulty level appropriate for a child will help develop focus and concentration, determination and patience, probelm solving skills, and build confidence...all while having fun. Beyond these general gains, specific puzzles or games can help with spatial awareness, math skills, dexterity, creativity and social skills. We've already seen, first hand, how the Mysterious Mind Reader Cards help improve math skills and build confidence. Pet Painting Class with Nettie Price

 Thursday July 18th 6:00pm to 8:30pm

Nettie Price will return again with her Sparkling Art Mobile and provide step by step instructions for painting your cats and dogs. With her direction you will surely love your whimsical, vibrant, and fun fur babies! $10 Registration Fee - $35 payable directly to instructor at time of class.

Sea Shell Necklace Workshop - with Karen Wolf - RESCHEDULED
  Saturday July 27 th 9:00am to 11:30am

Participants wll use a mold and hand form polymer clay and hand paint and varnish the cured polymer clay. Each participant will take home their own uniquely made pendant and chain. All materials are included. $10 Registration - $35 payable directly to instructor the evening of the class.
Uganda EdVentire - Prehistoric looking Shoebill Stork
Can you believe this is an actual bird existing today? We went in search of this creature our first full day in Uganda. The guides who took us into the swamp to find her (they didn't know whether it was male or female, but since they were with a group of 15 women they decided it should be a "her") were so determined to make sure we got great pictures that they went way above and beyond our expectations!

Planning has begun for this year's PICKFEST being held October 11 - October 13.
