When trees are in crisis, they signal to their roots to deepen and reach toward each other in search of nourishment and stability. This moment is asking us to do the same—to dig deep and tap into our wells of courage, community, and creativity as we navigate uncertainty and fear. News of this election leaves many of us feeling vulnerable around the rights and issues most fundamental to our lives. In our vulnerability, NewMexicoWomen.Org calls on the strength of our partnerships and the power of our shared values.
More severe storms are sure to come in this new context. And we know, our deep-rooted relationships—the most resilient movement infrastructure of all—give us what we need to weather the storms.
The road ahead will require solidarity, strength, and an immense imagination. We will need to listen, be brave, and stay in our hearts as we process and plan. We know the work for gender, reproductive, environmental, immigration, climate, and racial justice continues. NMW.O will enhance our support for organizing and power building across New Mexico.
