2025 Generations Day

All registered families received their guest list and visit-time information on Friday, 11/15, from hvogel@academielafayette.org.

Registration for Generations Day is now closed, but you can still edit your existing guest list until 10:00am on Monday, 11/17. If any guests are no longer able to attend, please let us know so we can update our plans.

Generations Day is next week - and we still need your help!

This heartwarming tradition depends on the support of our wonderful community. Whether you can pitch in for one shift, or join us for the whole day, your time will help make this event truly special for our students and their guests.

AL Insights

AL in the Community

Please join us in sending love, strength, and well wishes to Maryellen Markowitz, a Cherry 5th grader, who is preparing to undergo spinal fusion surgery. As she begins her journey, let’s surround her, her family, and her dedicated medical team with positive thoughts, prayers, and encouragement for a smooth surgery and a speedy recovery!

MS Boys Basketball Information

We have wrapped up MS Boys Basketball Tryouts. We had over 38 students in grades 6th-8th tryout. That is excellent participation however spots on the team are limited. Some players were informed yesterday of their status on the team. For those that didn't not, we will communicate that next Tuesday

Moving forward, boys basketball will practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school at the Cherry campus from 4:15pm - 6:00 pm. We will remind the players next week to request that a parent or guardian email us so that we can solidify our roster and parent contact information.

Help AL, Complete a Meal Application

Every family must complete an application, regardless of income level. Your completed application has the potential to increase our funding opportunities.

Every family that fully completes and submits a 2025-2026 Meal Application will be entered into a drawing for one of four $25 gift cards.

Just a note that, as of December 1, any carried-over free and reduced meal statuses from the 2024-2025 school year will be reset. If your family would like to receive free or reduced meal benefits for the 2025-2026 school year, please take a moment to submit a new application.

Questions or concerns, please contact DeAnn Gould, dgould@academielafayette.org.

December Parent-Principal Coffees

Parent-Principal Coffees are laid-back events where parents are invited to join the campus leadership for conversation, coffee, and pastries. The second Parent-Principal Coffees of the school year are happening after Thanksgiving break:

  • Cherry & Oak: 7:15 am in the auditorium on Tuesday, 12/2
  • Armour: 8:30 am in the conference room on Thursday, 12/4

There is always time at the end for questions, so come on by!

FoxTrot 5K Run

Mark your calendars for Saturday morning, November 15, and get ready to run! ALIHS is hosting its first annual "FoxTrot 5K Run" to benefit student international travel programs. Come out and support AL's mission to provide real-life global learning experiences. Register to run or make a donation here.

Come One, Come All to EIP Cirque, May 2, 2026!

Get ready for an unforgettable evening at The Gallery and Kill Devil Club in Power & Light! This year’s Evening in Paris promises to dazzle and delight with incredible food, entertainment, and plenty of fun.

It’s not too late to join the excitement—raffle ticket sales (a chance to win an EIP table) and EIP t-shirt sales are open through November 15. T-shirts will be distributed to students before winter break.

And remember—it takes a team to make the magic happen! Join us for our Volunteer Kick-Off Event to learn how you can get involved. From auction item acquisitions and day-of help to larger committee roles, there’s a spot for everyone.

Come meet the EIP committee, enjoy a complimentary refreshment, and find your perfect volunteer fit!
